SCHEDULE RELEASE: Energy announce full USL slate
The Oklahoma City Energy have announced their complete 32-game schedule for the 2021 USL Championship season.
Kicking off against bitter rivals, the Energy will compete in the Eastern Conference of the USL for the first time since the league split into conferences.
Play will open for the Greens at Taft Stadium before the Energy faithful against FC Tulsa on April 24 at 7:30 p.m. The 21st edition of the Black Gold Derby will be the first of four matchups between the Oklahoma clubs this season.
After the season opener, the Energy head to ONEOK Field for their pair of Black Gold Derby away fixtures on July 2 and July 17 before returning to Taft for their season finale against FC Tulsa on Oct. 30.
The schedule consists of an even 16/16 split of home and away games for Oklahoma City. A majority of the games will take place against OKC’s fellow members of the Central Division (Atlanta United 2, Birmingham Legion FC, FC Tulsa, Indy Eleven, Louisville City FC, Memphis 901 FC and Sporting Kansas City II).
OKC’s four cross-divisional opponents will be Rio Grande Valley FC, San Antonio FC, Austin Bold FC and El Paso Locomotive FC.
Energy FC 2021 Schedule per the Energy
The Energy will visit Rio Grande Valley on Aug. 29 and El Paso on Oct. 24, and will host San Antonio on Oct. 3 and Austin on Oct. 10.
This season, the Greens will meet Atlanta United 2, Birmingham Legion FC, Indy Eleven and Memphis 901 FC for the first time this season.
Fans will be permitted at every game at Taft Stadium this season in accordance with local heath and safety protocols.
